Sorensen’s Lead Worship at Oriole Park
This Tuesday evening, after the Orioles game for Faith Night, our worship pastor and his wife will have the privilege of leading worship. Kim will also be singing the national anthem! If you can make it, come join other Uniontown families at the park—we’d love to see you there.
Name Change
We’re excited to share that our small groups ministry is getting a new name! What was once Community Groups will now be called Home Groups. This change better reflects the heart and makeup of our existing groups—people from Carroll and surrounding counties gathering to love God most and love others best.
Our new name also points to what we hope our groups will become: a spiritual home for Christ-followers to meet together in homes around our community, forming spiritual families who grow in faith side-by-side.

The launch of our new ministry year is right around the corner! In the coming weeks, you’ll have many opportunities to sign up, get connected, and grow in a smaller setting.
Mark your calendar for these key dates:
- August 24 – Move Up Sunday in Uniontown Kids Ministry
- September 7 & 14 – Fall Connect Fair: Join a Home Group, Digging Deeper class, ministry serving team, or register for Discover Uniontown and Discover Membership.
- September 10 – Opening Night for TeamKID and UBCYM. Register for TeamKID
Our prayer is that everyone at Uniontown finds a smaller setting where they can belong, build relationships, and be discipled.
Local & Global Outreach
Right now, a team of seven from Uniontown is serving at Ketty’s House in the Dominican Republic—an orphanage that cares for children and shares the hope of Jesus. Please be in prayer for them as they minister to both the children and staff.
Our first Samaritan’s Purse trip as the UBC Lighthouse Team will head to Boone, NC, on August 17. Ten team members will serve in this location after the flooding devastation, and more trips are on the horizon as we await scheduling confirmation for other locations.
Thank you for your incredible generosity in providing backpacks and school supplies! Tomorrow, we’ll welcome children and their families to a free supply store here at the church, where they’ll also receive haircuts and brand-new shoes. Pray that every child who walks through our doors will feel deeply loved and, ultimately, come to know Jesus.
