Easter Week:
Easter is just about a month away, and we wanted to give you a glimpse of what’s coming and how you can be praying!
Easter Sunday (April 20): We’re adding a third service to make room for just one more person to meet Jesus. Easter is a unique time—our friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers expect us to say something about it. So why not invite them? Bring them to a service with great music, a gospel message, and then take them to lunch to talk about what they heard!
April 17 & 18 – Symbolic Messianic Seder: We’ll be hosting four interactive family services where we’ll walk through a Messianic Seder, exploring the traditional Passover meal and how its elements beautifully point to Jesus as our ultimate Deliverer. These services are informal, engaging, about 45 minutes to an hour long, and fun for all ages—including kids! Do you know someone who loves discussing religion, traditions, or history? Maybe someone who grew up in church but has since walked away? This is an easy invite and a great opportunity to spark deeper conversations. Stay tuned for more details in the next week or two—but even more importantly, start
praying about who you can invite as we make room for just one more!
Summer Camps
Registration for our nine summer camps has been launched! We are only one week in and already have 675 spots filled. A few camps are nearing waitlist status and we would love to have your help as we welcome hundreds of kids from our community and church family throughout the summer. Join us this Sunday in the lobby to learn more about serving in our sports camps, Art Camp, VBS, and more. There are daytime and evening opportunities to serve. For detailed information on each camp and to sign up to volunteer visit utown.org/summercamps.
Property & Farmhouse/Barn
As you may know, our property includes the farmhouse and barns located near the entrance to our parking lot. The farmhouse previously served as our office space, but when we could no longer continue using it for that purpose, we built and opened our new office facility in 2017. The barns, which are currently used for storage, have accumulated a significant amount of clutter over the years. Unfortunately, these buildings have become a liability for Uniontown due to the costs required for proper maintenance and their lack of functional use for our needs.
With this in mind, we have begun the process of selling a small portion of the property to reduce our liability and potentially generate funds for future church needs. We currently have interested buyers and are exploring a rent-to-own agreement, which would allow us time to complete the necessary steps with the county to legally separate this portion of the property for sale. In the coming months, we will need to clear out both the farmhouse and the barns, and we will coordinate times for this process. We ask for your prayers as we navigate this process to remove the liability and create an asset that can support future church projects.
Global Missions
One of our core intentions is for every church member to participate in a short-term missions trip. This summer, we are excited to offer several opportunities that will help us make progress toward this goal.
A team of 17 youth and young adults will be traveling to the Dominican Republic, while 36 youth and leaders will be heading to Virginia Beach for a week-long mission trip. Additionally, the Lighthouse teams are preparing for a trip in August, with the possibility of two more in the fall. Finally, a team is forming to visit our partner, Ketty’s House, in the Dominican Republic in August. If you’re interested in joining the Ketty’s House trip, we invite you to attend an interest meeting after either service in M2 on Sunday, March 30.
These trips rely on donations to make them possible. If you’d like to support them financially above and beyond your regular giving, please visit our giving page for more details. utown.org/give
