Summer Camps:
Summer is a busy time in Uniontown Kids! Be on the lookout for a Parent Update regarding Sunday classes and more coming soon to your inbox and social media. If you have not yet joined our Uniontown Kids Parents Facebook page, please request to join so you can stay current. Remember to grab your Woothoop bracelet from the lobby this Sunday. Each bracelet comes with the name of a child registered for a summer camp. Grab a bracelet and commit to pray for that child in the coming weeks. Finally, we would appreciate your help with VBS. Check out this VBS Perfect Potluck link to see if there is anything you can provide so that will make our week a great success for our church family and community.
Finances:
Last year, Uniontown stepped out in faith with a bold budget increase, trusting God to provide as the church continued to grow. While the giving didn’t fully meet the projected goal last year, it remained consistent with long-term growth trends, reflecting consistent generosity. This year’s proposed budget is more modest—a 1.75% increase to $2,035,000—reflecting both faith and realism. As the church faces exciting challenges like needing more space, expanding staff, planting a church, and eliminating remaining debt, the leadership invites the congregation to pray and consider how God may be calling them to give. The goal isn’t just funding—it’s about participating in life transformation through faithful stewardship. You can pick up a copy of the budget and a more detailed explanation in the church lobby by the front windows.
Global Trips:
We’re thrilled that several mission trips are preparing to launch in the coming months! Our student team leaves this Monday to serve and grow in Virginia Beach—they’ve already raised over $20,143 to support their efforts. In mid-July, a group of teens and young adults will head to the Dominican Republic. They’ve raised $23,084 so far and are still working toward their remaining goal of $11,558. You can give to that trip here. The Ketty’s House team departs in early August, and with a shorter timeline for preparation, they still have significant funds to raise. Looking ahead to the fall, we’ll send out three separate teams through our Lighthouse Ministry to serve in regional disaster-affected areas. We’re excited to see how God will work through each of these trips to build His kingdom. Please keep these teams in your prayers—and if you’d like to give above and beyond your regular support, you can do so at utown.org/give.
Local Outreach Opportunities:
Over the past month, we’ve been supporting Alpha Pregnancy Center by collecting spare change in baby bottles. Those bottles are due back this Sunday, so don’t forget to bring them in and drop them off!
We’ll have more opportunities for local outreach coming up soon. Right now, our food pantry is looking a bit bare, and we’d really appreciate donations of non-perishable food to help restock it. These supplies go directly to our A Little Love Ministry, which meets with, prays for, and supports more than 35 families every month. Donations can be dropped off at the Local Outreach table at church or shipped from our Walmart Wishlist.
Also, we’ll soon be launching our annual backpack and school supply drive to support our local partner, Elmer Wolfe Elementary School. This year, we’re hoping to expand what we offer to families on pickup day—including things like free haircuts and other helpful services. If you’d like to be involved, please reach out to Robin Hoff!
