Outreach Opportunities/ Update:
Thank you for your continued generosity, which is making a difference both locally and globally. Following many discussions, Uniontown will provide a $10,000 donation to Clearfield Bible Church to help address critical expenses following their devastating fire. This support will cover a specific cost not included by insurance, which involves separating the well between the church and the parsonage. This Sunday, we will announce how you can match that amount to help this local congregation.
A few important dates are coming up! Operation Christmas Child boxes are due back to the church this Sunday. Please register your box and pay for shipping online before returning it filled by the deadline.
Additionally, this Sunday marks the launch of our annual Angel Christmas Tree initiative to support families within our church and community this Christmas season. This year, we have over 405 gifts needed to support approximately 60 families. You can sign up to participate here or at utown.org/christmas. All gifts are due back by Sunday, December 8.
Financial Update:
As a leadership team, we adopted an ambitious approach to this fiscal year’s projected annual income. This decision was made after prayerful consideration, analyzing previous years' giving patterns, and observing the growing number of attendees at Uniontown. It’s evident to many of you that our community is expanding rapidly, and we are committed to meeting the demands of this growth while sharing the gospel and nurturing discipleship among all who call Uniontown their home.
However, it’s important to acknowledge that our current giving is below expectations. As of October 31, 2024, we are facing a shortfall of ($149,390). Many churches are experiencing similar difficulties due to the current economic climate and the impact of the election season.
Please prayerfully reflect on your tithing and consider how you might support the Kingdom work here at Uniontown, especially as you plan your year-end contributions. Your generosity is essential in helping us continue to fulfill our mission.
Youth Pastor Update:
After much prayer, thoughtful deliberation, and several meetings, the elder team is thrilled to announce that Chris Sturdivant has been invited to join Uniontown full-time as our next youth pastor!
Chris brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for youth ministry. He not only has a proven track record of connecting with young people but also excels in empowering leaders to mentor and disciple them. His relational approach aligns perfectly with Uniontown's vision.
As an added blessing, we’ll also welcome Miranda, Chris's wife, as a volunteer—making this decision even more exciting for our community! We’re confident that Chris will be a tremendous asset, and we look forward to the future of our youth ministry.
We’re also grateful for Trent Hurlburt, who has been a steady leader during this transition. We’ve decided to keep Trent on board in youth ministry to work alongside Chris, strengthening our relationships and outreach to our youth!
